And it works great!  Just remember it will be a 160 Macro.  I have no 
problem with the stopping down issue, but focusing at smaller apertures can 
be tricky with the macro.  With the other R's, I can use hyperfocal 
focusing, but you can't use that with macro.  I just try to have enough 
light to see and move myself rather than the camera.   It's not as easy as 
manual focusing with the R8, but it can be done.
