Ted Grant et al,

Last night, I really had a "peak experience"; viewing a scene with my
R8/70-180 combo. I had been crawling about to get a pristine vantage point,
in a field across from & looking down on, two blue silos, a red storage
shed, & swirling patterns of corn fields in the last half hour of sunset.
With about a 170mm focal length, the compression yielded a scene in my R8
viewfinder, which seemed filled with poetics. The unique light was the
catalyst which allowed the scene to unfold!

There are those visual moments which arise during the photographic process,
which are literally almost mind-boggling. Needless to say, I've got high
hopes for what I might have captured on film ;~)!

In addition, when I had finally found my vantage point, the gear that I was
working was all second nature; i.e, the setting up of the tripod, the
fluidity of mounting the R8/70-180 onto the Arca Swiss ball head, the
choice of focal length in capturing the moment were secondary to what was
in my "minds eye".

Just thought I'd share my "decisive moment" ;~)!
