[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]I have never had problems with the LUG volume. It averages 100-150 messages per day, and while I cannot claim to read every single one, I do read the majority. Even when I travel, I do not unsubscribe, even when that means coming home to 1000+ messages in my mailbox. Too much traffic on a mailing list may be too much of a good thing, but too little traffic is death. Just look at the HUG--there is so little traffic that sometimes people post messages to the list asking if they have been unsubscribed. I think the LUG is perfect as it is (or was until today). Yes, it would be nice if people always remembered to change the subject of a thread if they are indeed starting to talk about something else. But I hope Brian restores the default "reply to LUG" function, because I am certain that I have missed out on interesting posts today that were sent just to one person instead of to the list. Please give me back my full LUG fix :-) Nathan On 15-feb-2007, at 16:43, Ric Carter wrote: > Well, the load certainly is manageable now, isn't it? > > I am reminded of a cousin who a few years ago suggested that since > he could not attend family reunion every year, maybe we shouldn't > have it as often. > > Participation levels ebb and flow for individual members as well as > the whole list.
