I had an uncle, Victor H. Bilek, who was assigned to the Air Force
Technical Intelligence Center at Wright Field during that period, both
as a USAF officer and Civil Service.? His special assignments included
evaluating enemy ordinance.? It's possible they crossed paths
somewhere.? He died last year.

My only experience with the hospital was to have a couple of wisdom
teeth removed.

That was an interesting period.? Many of the German scientists that
ended up with major roles in this country were brought into the country
from Canada under Operation Paperclip, and assigned to Wright Field
until they ended up in other laboratories.? I ended up working with a
number of them.
