The Brooklyn accent is widely misconstrued to be the New York accent. Walk
around Manhattan and you'll hear thoidy thoid and thoid on occasion but it's
not the same thing. (33rd & 3rd)

Brooklyn is a big place if it was a city and not a borough it would be the
5th largest city in the US of A.
I was born there as were my parents. It was hard to get rid of the accent.
The Chicago accent was worse but I got rid of that one too!

It is in New York and not Louisiana that one might hear "boids".
