Definately agree and a good basic explanation of the efficient market
theory. With that said, more and more of markets are moved by various
algorithms that may not be written to consider specific steps. Adobe moved
aggressively to counter "Asian" hacks by going to the subscription model(my
brother was purchasing grey copies in Shanghai for $20). That step
increased revenues that could be used for product improvement which has
been done.

For that portion of investments that are not in the broad category of ETF's
or large market sector funds we all want to be owners of companies that
"own" a market as long as management is ethical, prudent, and doesn't run
afoul of regulators.

But, returning to photography, the tools available in PS and LR are worth
the squeeze to keep the upgrades coming. YMMV
