Subject: [Leica] M9 reliability question - from the Leica Website

There was a huge discussion on the Leica forum about this topic. with 
the follopwing results:

1    The new cover glass has different spectral parameters, so the 
firmware had to be changed to compensate for the small difference in 
color transmission.

2    According to Leica, the new firmware is downwards compatible with 
the old coverglas. The firmware notices that old sensor with the 
original cover glass is present and reverts to the spectral parameters 
used in version 1.202
