Steve,

the 135/4 Tessar is a very compact lens designed and
built by Zeiss that was also manufactured by
Voigtl?nder (Color-Dynarex) and by Rollei (Tele-Tessar)
with a QBM (Rollei Quick Bayonet Mount) - it has
nothing in common with the M42 Takumar except excellent
quality. It's about 9.5 cm long set at infinity and
extends to 11 cm at a close focusing distance of 1.6
metres and has a diameter of about 5.5 cm. It was,
IIRR, also made with TM (M42) and Zeiss BM mounts for
the Icarex SLR TM and BM cameras

Colour rendition is extremely neutral with slightly
cool blues and greys - all un all very natural looking,
and it's very sharp, even wide open. If you can find
one, all sorts of companies make adapters for QBM to a
wide range of other camera mounts

Cheers
Douglas
