I used Media Pro from the time it used to be iView.  The advantage is that
you can search through all catalogs and you can have several catalogs open
at the same time.  The disadvantage is that they are very slow to upgrade
to new formats and it doesn't play well with DNG files.  Mine is also slow
and crashes often. I have almost abandoned it in favor of LR which is much
faster but can only open one catalog at a time.  You can get around that by
only having one catalog ;-)
