Subject: [Leica] [MUGers] Nocti questions

On my camera, a D700 I found in the Lantern guide (they're good for
something) that if while checking the shot I just did at the back of the
camera the LCD Monitor I keep hitting the zoom in button to see the maximum
magnification of the shot: THEN BACK DOWN TWO I get 1: 1 or real time with
no interpolation just like you do in Photoshop or any other image crunching,
tweaking or contact sheet viewing application. This is critical for doing
stuff like unsharpening in those applications. In the camera its good for
knowing if that part of the image is really sharp or not. Its only been a
month now that I've had this knowledge and I feel like I'm much more secure
in my shots.
The problem with checking the LCD Monitor is its like checking a Polaroid in
a way. Its already happened. Much better it would be if you knew before you
clicked the shutter. But you do if you have the AF turned off and you don't
move much having checked it. And you're not shooting wide open with a fast
lens... Its nice to super confirm sharpness in the various areas of your
image. I guess you could even be checking for the quality of non focus. The
B word.
