For those concerned about bright light and "Live View" take a look at the
"Hoodman" line of focusing rubber hoods. They make them for the
videographers to use Live View on dSLRs but will also work for any other
camera. The difference for the video crowd is an attachment mechanism that
is durable and solid. It will work much like a chimney finder on medium
format and just as bulky. I bought one to adapt to my Nex7 as the screens
real estate is so much nicer for careful composition as well as having a
histogram up while adjusting exposure. As wonderful as being able to see
what happens as you over or underexpose from the meter reading is, the
LCD's limited dynamic range doesn't really tell you what is going on in the
shadows. Hence the desire to have a live histogram.

For rangefinder users I don't believe the transition to slower operation in
Live View is critical. Meaning that for quick shooting you will be using
traditional rangefinder methods: you will go to live view mostly for macro
or increased precision in composition with alternative lenses. If you are
shooting fast action then another camera better suited to that endeavor
would be indicated.

On a positive note, learning new things and new ways of doing old things
keeps your brain active and young; possibly also adding to the drug
industry profits as well.

To quote someone still near to my heart:

"Keep pushing that shutter...."
