Many thanks to Mark Rabiner for this most interesting info about the
new captor being made in Europe for the future Leica M.
I knew from inside info in Solms that from the beginning there had
been some problems with another manufacturer (perhaps in Asia) for the
captor of the first Digital Leica M i.e. before the Kodak Retinette
captor. The Kodak company having met severe troubles I understood the
folks in Solms had to look elsewhere. Unexpected delays followed at
some time.

I am happy to hear they found a solution. But wait and see. At the
last Photokina the new Digital Leica M was announced for the
beginning of 2013, april or mai at most. Recently I heard rumors it
could be postponed to july august,...... 2013 of course.

Another idea. Kodak being visibly out for what concerns digital
Leicas, the only serious manufacturer left was IMACON in some way
linked to Hasselblad.
I hope this new manufacturer could also help us sooner or later with
a digital back for all the beautifull Hasselblads 500 500 CM ELM and
lenses etc without having to change all the equipement most of us
still have. And in 6X6 or 6X4.5 format of course

Another wish for another Leica Reflex camera with such a 24X36 captor
accepting the Leicaflex SL and R lenses without having to change
anything. Or is it an impossible dream? By te way the R-8 and R-9
Leicas they abandonned recently are wonderfulle machines. You could
even buy a digital back for it the so called DMR (half format), but
again from Imacon. Or may be simply a new back? Do you see wat I
mean?

Sehr Ge?rte Frau A. von...... (best wishes in Solms) do you hear us?
Vous nous entendez? H?ren Sie uns?
