Subject: [Leica] I'd like to know what the "vertical line" is

Wow, that is definitely a vertical line.  Thanks for posting this.  I have 
not noticed this phenomenon in any of my digital cameras.  Is it unique to 
Leica?

I love the look of the out-focus-lights in the background in both these 
shots.

Some sensors when photographing a bright source, e.g. a light bulb, may
cause a vertical line to appear. It shows up rarely on the M9:

Whereas the picture taken just slightly different angle or something does
not show it:
