Subject: [Leica] PESO: sharpness is a bourgeois concept

I do think HCB shot with the Zeiss 50 instead of the Leica 50 because all
his friends told him it was sharper and it was. And a better deal otherwise.
He may have not been throwing away shots becuae they were not all that sharp
but he was not throwing away shots becuae they were not exposed all that
well either as he was not using a meter. He had a full time pro printer
figuring out how to make viable images out of them.
