Geoff mon bon Ami,

I did not mean I want people to use it - I mentioned a trend; lots of ipads
were used as cameras on the sites I visited this Summer.

Else I had a glimpse at your portfolio - in room 42 ;-) - and I was stunned
not only by your photos, but also by the quality of the screen and ease of
use. I love the touch screen when king sized as this one is.
A cool move indeed.
Amiti?s
Philippe

For my two cents, the iPad is also a wonderful tool for carrying and
presenting photographs to share with friends. I don't carry a folder of
prints any more. I got the new one entirely due to its high resolution 10"
diagonal screen for mainly that purpose. Shows sRGB colours fine too. I
made a pre-set in Lightroom to size photo versions (2048 pixels on the long
side) and it's great for handing around to fellow photogs and interested
viewers. I think a few of the Barcelona crew were impressed!

The importing connectivity is marginally clumsy in that it doesn't directly
allow SD cards nor have a USB interface but it is doable with their
(additional) adaptors for those via the proprietary connection. You also
need to duplicate the default file folder and naming from a digital camera
on a flash drive if you are to use that.
Mine has hundreds of photos on it organised as I like and it is simple to
navigate/operate.
I played with the cameras but they are like using a tennis racket to strain
spaghetti. If you have the right tool with you why would you want to!

Cheers,
Geoff
