I have an air with a 250 GB SSD Drive and an external 500GB external
G-Drive, Sonny.

I have LR 4, cs6, and Capture 1. All work incredibly well and fast. I
carry a 500GB external G-drive mini; thin, small and fast, which I backup my
photos to each night. I've had no space problems and my layered TIFF files
get up to a gig each.
I backup the catalogue each night too. And the newer airs have even bigger
SSD drives.
Great travel gear IMO.
