I prefer color for both because:
Not enough contrast for the father and son; the image doesn't catch my eye
as well. Seems to soft for the work and environment.
The woman cooking has a weird halo around the back of her head that wasn't
as prominent in the color image. It looks weird now; like half her hair is
bleached in the back.
IMO...
