Unfortunately, not everyone thinks these things through. I saw a piece on the television news last night about a poor soul up near Tulsa who died of throat injuries when - you guessed it - a fireworks projectile did not function as promised and he looked into the barrel to see what was wrong. Sadly, you just cannot make this stuff up. --Bob ==On Tue, Jul 5, 2011 at 12:19 AM, Nathan Wajsman <photo at frozenlight.eu>wrote: > I wonder how the "No Duds" guarantee is implemented...if people are > expected to pick up unexploded fireworks and bring them back to the shop, > then I would stay well away from there ;-) > > That picture is my favorite, BTW. > > Cheers, > Nathan > > Nathan Wajsman > Alicante, Spain > http://www.frozenlight.eu > http://www.greatpix.eu > http://www.nathanfoto.com > PICTURE OF THE WEEK: http://www.fotocycle.dk/paws > Blog: http://www.fotocycle.dk/blog > > YNWA > > > > > > > > On Jul 4, 2011, at 7:04 PM, Robert Baron wrote: > > > As Ken Carney, the other member, wrote in a separate post, we went > searching > > for photogenic fireworks stands yesterday; more than a little nostalgia > was > > also involved in our mission. > > > > Given the few remaining stands, the burn ban, the real possibility of > arrest > > and the heat (104F) we stopped at one. > > > > Ken's shot somehow turned into b&w (it must have been the heat) ( > > http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/kcarney/_MG_9554.jpg.html) but I > decided to > > stick with color (it was definitely the heat).
