Everyone should have at least a copy!!! Hi Richard, The "Women in Medicine " as a photo book came several years after the coffee table hand bound leather classic, "THIS IS OUR WORK! The Legacy of Sir William Osler." There were two printings of this book. One case bound with dust jacket of which many on the LUG purchased several years ago when copies were available. The "250 copy Special Edition" hand leather bound that were sold @ $250.00 per copy before release to the public. These were all author signed and numbered and many went to medical university libraries, major medical facilities. Along to doctors and medical associations. Without question even though everyone is going on about Salgado, maybe they should have a look at "THIS IS OUR WORK?" Why? Well when you have doctors (many who are photographers also) and medical folks looking at and talking about "THIS IS OUR WORK." you hear nearly the same kind of comments we see here about Salgado.. This is a book shot with all Leica's M & R, film, available light throughout! And every moment is real time life not a posed photo in the book! Birthing to death and everything in-between. I'm always on the look out for the leather numbered copies as they are classic in binding and photo re-production. I know where a copy is in a gallery for $500.00 and the gallery owners refused an offer of $400.00 recently. In any event there are some shooters who went about doing interesting photography without the huge publicity machines behind many of the well known photographers of the world. Trust me I'd put "This is Our Work." up against many of them any day anytime! Sorry about this sounding like a big pat on one's own shoulder, but once in awhile you do have to let yer mates know the other guys are not alone and the only best! cheers, Dr. ted
