Jim,

No, it has been a year and a half since I looked at a Sony DSLR, no dealers 
in this area.  The finders of those I looked at were not equal to the R8.  
Going to Texas in December, I will see if I can try one then.

Gene,

Have you looked at the Sony A900? Extremely good 24 mp sensor with an
astoundingly good viewfinder which reminds me of the great finders on
the Nikon F et al/Leica SL and SL2. Great camera although not cheap,
except by Leica standards. ;-)
