I really think it's just a lucky dip these days - they're all about the same
for reliability.
I've had 2 seagate 1T's die on me in the last 12 mths, but a few friends
have had several WDs, Samsungs and Maxtors, etc all die on them but I've
never had any issues with WDs and Samsungs.
