No paint loss at all. Hopefully the new paint will stay in place. A few minutes hanging on its strap and bumping into plastic shirt buttons causes scratching. Shame on me for not buying a screen protector but it does seem like Leica quality is lacking on this point. It was clear to Leica that the screen would scratch in normal use as they suggested that as the cause when I called to ask about it. (My G9 suffers much greater indignities and is virtually unscratched after almost 2 years of being carelessly tossed around.). Lesson learned, I will have a screen protector when I get it back from Leica repair. A new back cover would be $775 so I'll just live with the scratches. It is at Leica repair after 2 weeks because the white paint fell out of the the engravings on the case and on the shutter speed dial. In general I feel much better about my M6s.
