Just screw it in gently and stop as soon as it stops -- don't keep going. It serves perfectly well to protect etc but it's really only about 65-75 percent screwed in. It's not loose and lens caps fit snugly over and come off without disturbing them, but you can see a fine line of space between the rim of the filter and the upper rim of the lens barrel.
