On my old camera I can choose the color temperature I want to shoot at.
And actually I feel pretty confident on color temperature with all the color
film I've shot with type B and type A and corrective Kelvin color filters
and all that I feel like a walking color temperature meter. That would be
easy enough to test out with this setting with my camera.
So last week for the first time I fired off some frames walking down the
street just by guessing what the color temperature was and putting the
number in there. Looked good to me. I'm going to do more.
But with the Nikons the Auto color balance does not mess up that much.
It just only goes so warm. You can take more warm out with other settings.
Like the one I just mentioned.
But this is all busy work if your shooting raw becaue as Geoff is mentioning
this is easy enough to just do afterwards when you have the time to think.
Just fix one in a situation and match the rest to it.
I guess if you ever had to shoot jpegs you'd want things to all be perfect
I'd hate to be put I that position.

There's always a preset setting "pre" we've got where you aim your camrea at
a grey card and hit the button and that's your white balance setting.
If Leica doesn't have that yet I'm sure they will soon.
