Hi Wendy, I am sure the M3 finder was the best of the M finders. The M2 
finder was a cheaper version since the M3 was much more complicated to make. 
Low and behold lots of people liked the cheaper finder since it allowed use 
of a 35mm lens without a finder or goggles, they haven't been back to the 
expensive one since...
