[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]I'm enjoying a middle ground. Joined a gallery which forces me to print and frame. I'm enjoying touching my images and seeing them on the wall. Sold a few so far, but?certainly not recovered my investment in frames, inks etc., not to mention the photo gear. So not a full time, bread on the table venture, but?still a business venture that I hope someday will pay off. One?unexpected aspect is the folks who come in (I'm required to sit?the Gallery 4hrs per month) and want photo lessons. I have 2 students so far and they are a lot of?fun. Always learn more from them than they do from me, though I don't tell them that. So again, there is a middle ground that may help me?afford my addiction and someday may prove to be a net revenue maker...?The key is I'm really enjoying it (most days) and it's expanding my?photo knowledge and abilities. ?Bob Adler Palo Alto, CA http://www.rgaphoto.com ________________________________ From: Mark Pope <mark at whitedogs.co.uk> To: Leica Users Group <lug at leica-users.org> Sent: Wed, March 10, 2010 11:10:16 AM Subject: Re: [Leica] Selling prints online and prices Nathan makes a good point.? I'm sure we've all heard people say "gee you ought to be a professional" or "you could sell that picture". Like Nathan, I have sold a few prints and I have done a couple of weddings (which I didn't enjoy, but that's another story). Personally I wouldn't want to? try and make a living from it. It would take away the pleasure I get from taking and printing pictures. I take pictures for me.? If other people like them, then that's great.
