I hiked with 24-35-50-85, the 50 didn't get use much although there were a couple instance where the 50 were perfect and couldn't really "zoom" with a 35. I think I'd pick up a 21. I think a 21-35-85 would make a minimal kit, and I can throw in a couple more lens if I feel like it. 18 may just be too wide, but it's ~0.5x of 35 :-) On Fri, Mar 5, 2010 at 6:41 PM, Doug Herr <wildlightphoto at earthlink.net>wrote: > Frank Filippone wrote: > > >What I have always claimed... the rule of doubling..... > > > >15-35-75 > >24-50-90 > >Etc..... > > > >My buddy and I always used LF lenses in the doubling of FL .... anything > else seemed un-needed or could be worked around.... > > I like the rule of sqrt(2), i.e. 1.4x between focal lengths: > 180-280-400-560 > > Doug Herr > Birdman of Sacramento > http://www.wildlightphoto.com > > > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information > -- // richard <http://www.imagecraft.com/> blog: < http://imagecraft.wordpress.com> // portfolio: <http://www.dragonsgate.net/pub/richard/PICS/AnotherCalifornia > // mailing lists: <http://www.imagecraft.com/contact.html> [ For technical support on ImageCraft products, please include all previous replies in your msgs. ]
