Bob.
You forget that he developed the first great quintet from nothing as
well - surely the maturing and education of Coltrane in the mid-late
1950s was seminal for jazz as a whole? Miles was like Art Blakey,
great at developing musicians - remember that Wayne Shorter was really
developed by Blakey, not Miles.
