I'd dearly love to visit your part of the world one day, and I admire your photos very much. Another goal of mine is to go birding in Costa Rica. Anyway, pigeons and doves are beautiful too! I live for most of the year in southern Japan, and my house is very close to a river. I often see kingfishers, which sight lends a thrill to the whole day, but when I manage to photograph that beautiful little bird, the natural high ripples on and on. I suppose you kjnow that feeling. I played around with the sliders in Flickr's Picnic mode, to try and bring back a little detail in the flapping dove. I think the M8 tends to over-expose in 'A' mode, so I will try to experiment a bit and see if I should set the camera to underexpose by a third or two thirds in certain situations (white birds against bright skies, for example!).
