Is it because of the Mega Pixel phenomenon where people can easily
crop this and crop that?

Interesting POV, 28 cron is on my list too.

But I don't like to collect lenses. I only keep the one that I really
use and need. If I have 28mm I might forgo my 35 cron or do not have
to get 35 lux.
