I cannot make LR2.6 crash or misbehave with M9 files. ACR5.6 seems to not synchronise with changes made in LR2.6 currently. That is, edits made in LR are not appearing in the files when opened in ACR. I don't know what is going on there as yet or whether it is related at all. Frank F, once a camera model has been added to the program the default profile shows as 'Adobe standard'. It automatically uses the one for that specific camera model. If you had Raw files from say several differnt supported camera types on your computer, the default profile shown for each would be called the same thing 'Adobe standard' even though they are different profiles. That is the selection does not say M9 Adobe Standard or D700 Adobe standard but that's what it is doing.. You cannot select the profile for a wrong model. It is possible to install the profiles in several ways (whether custom or standard). Installing the LR3 Beta automatically put the M9 profile in the correct folder and it remains available even after that software is removed. Installing LR2.6 whether or not you removed it afterwards, would similarly make the new profiles added with that version persisent for ACR5.5 or earlier too. Generally you should keep the point versions synchronised though. You can also simply copy the new profiles you want to the appropriate folder without installing any new program versions. This applies to custom profiles too.
