[Leica] M9 Internal IR-Cut filter make the camera fragile to use?

I guess the reason I chose to convert one to B&W was because of the 
horrible color shifts and fringing on the other ones.
If anybody thinks these Leica lens show finging, CA or color shifts, 
they have never used Canon wide lenses.
