Hi Nathan,
I have never tried smoking because the smell makes me want to chuck up.
I feel no animosity to smokers and in general feel that people should
be allowed to take their drug of choice, legal or illegal.
OTOH smokers do ruin a nice walk for me. Maybe I have a good sense of
smell, but I even get a whiff in the country when a car drives by with
someone smoking in it. Nowadays in town I walk outside taking deep
breaths between clusters of smokers collected outside having a fag.
Getting into airports is a pain -every- door is completely surrounded
by smokers, one is kippered by the time you get in, I have sussed the
least obnoxious routes into the airports I use most.
Personally I would not be upset by someone injecting themselves with
heroin or snorting cocaine in my presence, but I find the smell of
smoke truly obnoxious. Particularly cigars, they make me feel homicidal.
I guess everybody is different, but smokers inevitably impose
themselves on their surroundings more than drinkers and imbibers of
other drugs which do not burn.
Rant ends.
Frank
