In the case of the 5D and DMR comparison; I've tested the same Leica R lenses on both sensors; locked on a tripod aimed at the same subject exposed within minutes of one another. Recently I've picked up the 5D a bit more and certainly enjoy it's auto features for quick snaps and high action. And with enough sharpening added can fool most peoples eyes into seeing "sharpness." However, it doesn't carry the same sense of micro "reality" that the DMR produces (I recognize that this statement is both subjective and aesthetic).
