I've been only "auditing" the LUG over the past few months, checking in and out from time to time but letting the messages be archived in my gmail account. I suppose I have an awareness of the body of your work so I know that from this set of images could be another set and another that are both more complex and perhaps illuminating with regard to the state of children in the world. It's clear to this observer that you are trying, and succeeding with wonderful clarity, to show the open connection between children everywhere: that they are human and approachable. It's perfect for your audience. Heck, it's perfect for just this guy. I know you could have made a grim collection just as easily, something for adults to ponder. I'd want to see those images also, although I know they would hurt. We all have our hot-button issues, certainly in the past the LUG has experienced one or two of mine. Just remember: those aren't about you and they really aren't about your work. You got a response because your images touched an emotion and it was raw. That's what art does from time to time. I can only offer that you take a really DEEP breath, let the reactions flow, and remember your work is yours and there are lots of us out here who respect it deeply. I'd take these "snaps" any day. :-) Adam On Wed, Apr 15, 2009 at 8:41 AM, Tina Manley <images at comporium.net> wrote: > PESO: > > This time of year I get asked to speak at a lot of schools about children > and photography.
