Hello Gary.

The easiest way to use the 65mm Elmar on the G1 would be to attach  
the whole thing, lens to focusing mount, to Visoflex with the mirror  
locked open, to the Leica M to G1 adapter. That should work but what  
a kluge.

If you didn't want to use the Visoflex you would need to get some  
sort of adapter with female and male M ends the thickness of the  
Visoflex housing (about 1 3/8" long). Without that thickness the lens  
would be too close to the sensor and focus past infinity only. I  
suppose if you were lucky the focusing mount would allow you to focus  
on the moon in it's closest position.

My advise would be to not try to use the 65mm Elmar on the G1 unless  
you want a challenge to see if you can do it.
