I think there's a consensus here that for 35mm film, a dedicated film scanner is a must for any decent quality. Medium format seems to be quite more lenient until you need high quality scans for large prints. I'm in total agreement with this. As much as I would like to accommodate 2 scanners, one for 35mm and one for 120 film, that is where I draw the line as I would rather buy a single scanner that does both than have 2 separate scanners, which in combination, would consume a lot more of my desk space. I'm a little quirky that way. So understandably I will need to decide whether scanning my own 120 film is worthwhile, considering I shoot medium format much less than I do 35mm. Coming from digital imaging, I value convenience and my time but also quality so I do recognize the necessary evils of digital scanning requires patience. Argh! Choices! Geoff Hopkinson, I suspect we have "met" somewhere? :)
