Subject: [Leica] Film Scanner Suggestion

Mark,
My 8000 works fine. The only difference between it and the 9000 is the 8000
is 12bit A/D and the 9000 is 14bit.
Also, in the situations where you are doing a 16X multiscan on the 8000 you
would get a lot of chromatic aberrations in large single color areas (blue
skys) which was supposedly fixed with the 9000. There was a work around with
the 8000 (use "ultra fine" setting which did a pass for each lcd color as
opposed to all 3 at once), but it extended the scan time by 3.
So it's a good box; 9000 is a bit better.
Best,
Bob
