I?take them off for landscape photos.?Anytime I don't have to put 
anything?in front of the glass, I don't. Haven't found any IR problem in 
landscapes/flowers/paint...

After installation, Don't take them off the lens......

I do not use any filters ( UV or else) for protection.? But in the case of
the M8, it seems that you never know when you will have purple gremlins
attacking.

So it is prudent to just leave them on......

OTOH, I do not have an M8 so what do I know?
