I don't think bees will bother you if you don't bother them. Last
year I had some bees build a nest in my grill cover that I placed on
a chair on my patio. I had to walk past it every time I used the
grill. I just left them be and never bothered their nest. They were
constantly flying in and out of the nest so when I went to the grill
and saw them coming I just stopped and let them pass. Kinda like a 4
way stop sign. They never bothered me even though they would fly
within 2 feet of my nose. After a while I think they knew I wasn't
going to hurt them so they let me be. Come Spring this year they were
gone and never came back. I thought they were fascinating.
