Len, first, this is a low contrast subject. Second, at f/8 the contrast of 
any lens will be at its highest. Try making a high contrast image with this 
lens at 3,5. Then compare it with the 2,8 Summaron at each aperture from 3,5 
through f/11, same film, same subject, same developing and printing,  and 
the difference will pop out.
