With all due respect to Stephen Gandy for the information posted on
cameraquest, there are only 2000 M2R's, from serial# 1248201 to 1250200.
This means that there are 10 cameras ending in xx81 other than the
seller's with serial numbers after 1248981, the NEXT one of which
happens to be the stolen camera and the most easily altered number.
Only 18 cameras total of this type have 124xx81. As the M2R is a
collector's camera there may also be a short list of confirmed owners.
