Len... you are correct. An examination of the lens shows no screws on the
rear end ( read that as no easy-to-swap-out-screw-heads are visible.) A
major mystery how those elves got the parts together......
And, for the record, the pre-ASPH 35/1.4 Lux ( S/N starting out 2.87Million)
seems to have at least 3 different coating colors that are distinguishable.

It might require dis-assembling the lens from the other end and then
machining the lens base. Leica want's something easy, like removing 6
screws and just replacing the correct, pre-coded mounting plate. I
