I'm very sorry to hear your plight. I'm a cancer surgeon in the UK,  
but not a urologist.

As far as I understand, early prostate cancer treatment is pretty  
good. However, there are issues. With surgery, there can be potential  
problems with incontinence and lack of erectile function. Both are rare.

However, we know that surgery is in fact the best form of treatment  
for most early cancer types, in spite of what some oncologists might  
say to you.

I think you should get as many opinions as you can. Apart from the  
'cure' rate, ask them closely about the potential side effects. When I  
treat patients where there are 'equivalent' options, then treatment  
related morbidity or side effects can be a decisive issue.
