Which is an excellent suggestion, as it illustrates what I've said so many times. "When you photograph people in colour. you photograph their clothes!" "Photograph them in B&W and you photograph their souls!" Well OK maybe no souls showing here, but when you get rid of the colours you now have a photograph with much greater impact! The people stand out stronger and the over all look of the picture has much greater impact. Sometimes we become so caught up with colours we forget, "I wonder how this might look in B&W?" At least with digital and computers we can make very quick changes to see how effective the switch over might be. So over to you Tina, after all it is your picture and from the B&W I'd said Philippe was quite right in suggesting the switch, as it's a far better photograph in B&W. Yeah I know some folks will want to argue, OK go for it! ;-) But before you start just remember Philippe and I are right. And Tina has shown with her B&W photo version proving us right! :-) Now don't cry or get mad! ;-) Relax and enjoy a cool photograph! :-) In B&W! Thanks Tina. :-) ted -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+tedgrant=shaw.ca@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+tedgrant=shaw.ca@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Tina Manley Sent: Friday, May 23, 2008 8:21 AM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] IMG: and LIGHT - BW At 09:58 AM 5/23/2008, you wrote: >Hope this helps. It hadn't occurred to me. Probably a lot of the India photos would lend themselves to B&W. There was so much color everywhere, it was almost overwhelming. I'll have to try converting some (if I ever finish them all!!) Tina Tina Manley www.tinamanley.com _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
