Again I find myself at odds with the claims.

If one chooses to understand and or teach Photography and the seeing  
of Photographs - the digital work flow allows extremely intensive  
study of these.

Just as non linear digital video allows for extremely intensive study  
of motion pictures.

While processing film, with intensive study of the relationship of  
exposure to development as they relate to tonal control; and the fine  
art of printing with silver paper and chemicals are wonderful crafts;  
they have little to do with what a Photographer chooses to  
photograph, how they see or use light, compose the frame, etc.
