It also seems to me that most Leica users have a romantic notion of the brand, and not survival of the company - the brand will survive one way or another. Remember that Canon & Nikon can give you a IDs Mk3, or a D3 only because they sell huge quantities of Digital Rebels, D40 and the like. But Leica rebadges an identical Panasonic at the low end and charges a hefty premium for the pleasure of having a Red Dot on the camera! I dont understand how they can ever survive with that mentality, and why some people actually buy the Leica instead of the Panasonic. For starters, Leica should follow Zeiss and sell lenses in different mounts at reasonable prices, to at least have an annuity cash flow - and then they can think of other things. But I am afraid that I see Leica sold to one of Panasonic/Sony/Canon/Nikon/Samsung in the not very distant future.
