Rightly or wrongly, the 4th version is the most desired and expensive of the pre-asph lenses ( for its mystical bo-keh properties). I'd not stress any more, just locate an example of any model with clean glass and in your price range and grab it. They will all make pictures of wonderful quality that will challenge your skills.
