Subject: [Leica] IMG: 4 more from Guatemala

Tina,
your editing is fine I'm sure. Digital is seducing us all into the world of
colour, because you can do things with colour now in LR etc that you could
only achieve with b/w in the darkroom. RAW is a boon, and a curse. In the
old days the slides were accepted as being limited and we "settled" for the
ones that happened to work and shrugged at the near misses. Now we expect to
"save" any image. The people will be just as strong in b/w, but the record
of their clothing will not be as accurate. Scanning slides is like
cibachrome to me: when it works its just fantastic and when it does not work
you will never save it.

Cheers

Alastair

Maybe not? Convert them all to B&W?

I really appreciate everybody's help with this. Whatever sense of
editing I ever had seems to have deserted me!
