Lightroom went through a long beta phase and one could download and
use the beta software free. I tried it but it had too many windows
like shortcomings in the file handling so I did not use it long.
Most but not all of the things I did not like in the beta were
resolved for the production version, which I like reasonably well. I
have had no stability problems though I run it on my Mac rather than
my pc.
